Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — used for account registration via PlayFab
- Username / display name — shown to other players in-game
- Player code — a unique identifier generated by PlayFab
While you play, the following is stored temporarily in server memory and is not persisted to disk:
- Game board state (property ownership, cash balances, positions)
- Trade offers, stock holdings, bond investments
- Chat messages sent during a game session
Your browser's localStorage stores your session token and UI preferences (e.g., sidebar state). This data stays on your device and is not sent to us except for the session token used for automatic re-login.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To enable real-time multiplayer gameplay
- To allow other players to see your username and chat messages during a game
- To restore your session when you return
Data Sharing
We share your data only in the following circumstances:
- PlayFab (Microsoft) — your email, username, and authentication data are processed by PlayFab's identity service. Their privacy policy applies to that data.
- Other players — your username and chat messages are visible to other players in the same game session.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data Retention
- Game session data is stored in server memory only and is deleted when the game ends or the server restarts.
- Account data (email, username) is retained by PlayFab for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion (see "Your Rights" below).
- localStorage data remains on your device until you clear it.
Cookies & Tracking
We do not use cookies, web beacons, or any tracking technologies. We do not integrate analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting tools.
Children's Privacy
Invest Up is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Your Rights
You may request:
- Account deletion — email us and we will remove your account data from PlayFab
- Data access — ask us what data we hold about you
